Honda Foundation, Inc. Provides Aid to Families Affected by Typhoon Tino in Liloan, Cebu
Early in November 2025, the Philippines was struck by a powerful typhoon, Typhoon Tino. The area of Cebu was greatly affected, along with 11 municipalities whose water supply was interrupted because of the strong rains and heavy winds. A week after the calamity, 0% of water supply had been restored. As such, Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) made the decision to donate boxes of bottled water to the local community.
On November 21, 2025, associates from the Cebu office of Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) representing HFI visited affected families in Barangay Cotcot, Liloan, Cebu where 35 individuals unfortunately passed away and entire communities were submerged in floods. To aid their recovery and help provide the restoration of basic necessities, HFI donated a total of 20,160 1.5L bottles of drinking water to 1,680 families. Local residents and officials, headed by the Barangay Captain, Hon. Martin Yungco, directly received the packages from HFI.

President of HFI and Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Ms. Rie Miyake says, “We at Honda are so saddened to hear that our fellow Filipinos in Cebu have been hit with another tragic calamity. We would like to reach out and offer our sympathies to all affected and sincerely hope that they are finally able to recover soon.”
