Excellent Fuel Economy Results for the All-New Brio and New BR-V

September 2, 2019 – Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), Honda’s automobile unit in the Philippines, is pleased to share the results of its recently concluded Fuel Economy Run in partnership with Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP).

For this run, Honda fielded two of its core vehicles – the All-New Honda Brio 1.2 V CVT and the New Honda BR-V 1.5 S CVT. After being driven for a total of 231.45 kilometers through highway night driving, the Brio achieved a fuel mileage of 24.39 kilometers per liter, while the BR-V achieved 22.58 kilometers per liter.

To ensure that the two vehicles were tested under realistic driving conditions, HCPI and AAP set the following parameters:

  • Speed at 60-80kph at 1500 to 2000 rpm
  • Aircon set at 50% cool at Blower Fan Speed 1

The BR-V’s fuel consumption result proved remarkable given its power rating of 120ps. With this, the BR-V achieves the distinct position of being the most powerful in its class, yet with excellent fuel efficiency.

On the other hand, the Brio is expected to achieve great fuel efficiency given its small engine. But with class-leading space and legroom, overall superb drivability, and above-average power, the Honda Brio  breaks the norms of typical small cars available in the market today.

The Fuel Economy Run is an initiative of Honda Cars Philippines Inc., as supervised and certified by Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) with the objective of providing customers accurate and relevant information to aid in their car selection process. By knowing the fuel rating of these vehicles achieved through realistic conditions, customers will be able to make informed and intelligent decision in their car purchase.
