Information of the Recall on the Passenger Side Airbag Issue


First of all, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. would like to thank our customers in trusting Honda products.

Referring to the recall announcement by Honda Motor Co., Ltd. on the passenger side airbag issue, we would like to inform that this is related to the inflator body of the airbag that may explode due to excessive internal pressure.

While this symptom is still under investigation, we will already voluntary recall the vehicles affected as a preventive measure and to help facilitate parts investigation. We will send letter-notices to concerned customers and/or owners whom will also be contacted by Honda dealers through phone. All affected owners are encouraged to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer to have the passenger side airbag inflators to be replaced free of charge.

For the Philippine market, the vehicles which are affected by this case is the Honda Civic model year 2003 - 2004 , of which the frame numbers are listed in the table below.

In any case the affected vehicle has already been sold; original owners are requested to inform the dealership immediately in order to inform the transferee of this safety campaign.

We would like to inform you that this is a precautionary measure to ensure the highest safety of our customers which is our top priority and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this might caused.

Repair service of affected vehicles will start on January 13, 2015.
